What does “Gospel” really mean? The word gospel comes from the Old English “god” meaning "good" and “spel” meaning "news". And when we see the phrase "good news" we know it’s referring to the story of Jesus Christ's birth, death, and resurrection.
So then why is the “GO” emphasized? How does a good story go?
A good story will go if we are willing to take it.
The last thing Jesus told His disciples was, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”
Those are His standing orders. Those are what He left us with. And until He returns, the command remains:
GO.
