Beauty for Ashes comes from Isaiah 61:3, where God says the following, "to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."
You will notice the roman numerals in the design that stand for 61:3 as well as the background of beautiful flowers. See - we, because of sin have become, well, dead. Ephesians 2 paints a pretty bleak picture for us. And yet the God of the Universe, the very being we have sinned against, says, "No. I will take your death, your ash, your dry bones and I will breathe life and beauty into them. I am exchanging your death for life, your dirt and grime for beauty."
