Here's that phrase again: Stop Being Dead. It takes on so many different tones, and purposes. But this idea of it being repeating reminds us of the battle of preaching to your heart. It isn't as easy as just being "born again". Well, theologically, yes, Christ saves you in a moment. He wakes you up to life but in another sense we need to tell our flesh every day to stop being dead. Stop going back to the pig slop. It reminds us of a delinquent writing on a chalk board. Tell your heart to shut up. Stop being dead. You aren't dead, so stop being dead.
