Throughout the New Testament, Paul references a lot of people. Most are friends and fellow workers on mission with him. Demas is one of those people. In his letter to the Colossians, Demas sends his greetings. In his letter to Philemon, Paul describes him as a co-laborer in the faith.
But then… something happened. In his final letter to Timothy, Paul says that Demas fell in love with this present world and deserted him to go to Thessalonica. Demas had run the race for decades only to lose in the end.
We turned the e on its side so that at first glance it could look like we’re saying Demas was... well, you get it.
Don’t give up at the finish line. Don’t be a Demas.
